In
a study published in Proteomics - Clinical Applications, April 2014
issue by Cindy Salvisberg, Translational Biomarker Group, Department of
Human Protein Sciences, Medical University Center, Geneva, Switzerland
revealed that among 185 proteins identified in tears only alpha-1
antichymotrypsin is significantly increased in multiple sclerosis
patients. Therefore analysis of alpha-1 antichymotrypsin is a promising
biomarker for the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.
